Confidentiality & Sharing Your Information

At Calm Pathways, I want you to feel safe and comfortable. Our coaching is a person-centred space built on trust. This policy explains how I handle your information with care and respect, following UK guidelines to keep everyone safe.

What confidentiality means

In simple terms, confidentiality means that the things we talk about in our coaching sessions stay between us. I keep notes on our sessions privately and securely. This helps create a safe space where you can be honest about your thoughts and feelings without worrying about who else might hear.

When I might need to share

  • Very occasionally, I have a professional duty to share information. This usually only happens if:
  • I believe a young person or someone else is at risk of serious harm.
  • The law requires me to share information (e.g., related to a crime).
  • It is necessary to protect your vital interests or health.

Who information might be shared with

If we do need to share information for safety reasons, it would only be with people who can help, such as your GP, CAMHS (mental health services), Social Care, or your School Safeguarding Lead. We will always try to discuss this with the young person and their parent or carer first, unless doing so would put someone at more risk. These decisions are made carefully and follow our privacy notices and consent policy to ensure your rights are protected.

Questions or Concerns?

If you have any questions about how your information is used or if you are worried about anything we’ve talked about, please just ask me! You can also raise concerns at any time by emailing info@thecalmpathways.co.uk.
